She’s racked up more frequent flyer points than we’ve had Tesco meal deals, but Samantha Faiers’ philosophy is simple: work hard, vacay hard. After all, with a life in the public eye, there’s no such thing as an “off” day – especially while juggling the filming of her reality series with various fashion gigs, not to mention her full-time job as a mum of two (Paul, three, and 23-month-old Rosie). Speaking to heat as she launches her new collection for QUIZ, Sam, 28, talks style for all, work-life balance, and rekindling the spark with partner Paul Knightley. But as for those engagement rumours, she remains tight-lipped… tell us about the new collection… It’s perfect for Christmas. All very dressy, lots of sparkles and velvet. And it comes in all different shapes and sizes for all ages, too, so there’s something for everyone. I wanted it to be accessible to all. does Paul give you advice on your designs? Yeah, he’s really good when it comes to women’s fashion. We’re always asking for each other’s opinions. We’re both really honest and we’ll say no to something we don’t like. Some guys don’t care what you’re wearing – it’s nice to know that he does. how was your recent romantic getaway to Venice? So lovely. It was our first little trip together alone since having kids, and it was so nice to be travelling without two prams and two baby bags! It was the first time that we could walk through the airport without feeling like donkeys. We were just holding hands, not having to worry about a thing. Is it hard to keep the spark alive? Obviously, we’re parents of two small children, plus we’re running businesses and filming, so it can sometimes feel like we’re passing ships in the night. But Paul always makes time for us. We’re very loved-up. T he kids take up 95 per cent of our time, but that’s why trips together are important. You’ve had flak for going away so much – does it bother you? Well, I understand that you only see Instagram, which is a highlight showreel. But unless you’re behind the scenes, you don’t realise how hard we work. It’s seven days a week, from the minute I wake up at 7.30am to the minute I go to bed at 10.30pm. It’s constant. I can see why people say it’s OTT, but I live for my holidays and making memories with my kids. n
