Arg wins back Gemma – but her mates aren’t happy

Brace yourselves, because it looks like Gemma Collins and James “Arg” Argent are back on again. Last week, the on/ off couple were spotted enjoying a romantic holiday in Dubai, just weeks after ending their volatile relationship for the 168,000th time – and days after Gemma insisted she was single.
According to insiders, the trip came following Arg’s “desperate” attempts to win Gemma back after his recent health issues – which culminated last month with emergency services being called amid fears he’d overdosed. But while Gem now seems to be back with him for the moment, we’re told her friends are fuming. “Gemma and Arg looked more loved-up than ever in Dubai,” a source close to the drama-prone pair has revealed. “They were staying at the Versace Hotel and worked hard to talk through their problems. At dinner, they were holding hands and instead of arguing, they seemed relaxed and content in each other’s company.”
Apparently, this latest reunion came after Arg – who was kicked off TOWIE earlier this year for failing a drug test – had a health scare last month, with Gemma, 38, reportedly calling 999 amid fears he may have overdosed. heat’s insider says, “Arg barely ever told Gemma he loved her, but now he’s saying she’s the best he’s going to get – and at least it guarantees him regular sex.” Charming.
But while his efforts seem to be paying off, we’re told that Gem’s friends think she deserves better. “They said they’d disown her if she went back to him after all he put her through,” our source reveals. “Gem’s friends really just wish Arg would go to rehab and leave her alone, but the problem is that neither of them like being single. Gemma doesn’t cope so well on her own.”
Last week, days before Gemma and Arg, 31, were spotted on vacay, she made a triumphant return to TOWIE, reuniting with close friends Chloe Sims and Bobby Norris. Asked if she was single, Gem replied, “Yes, I am. I held on for two years and stood by someone, and unfortunately it has not worked out and it is very sad. I just keep saying to myself that the universe has got something better out there for me.”
But judging by their cosy display in Dubai, Gemma’s had a change of heart – much to her friends’ dismay. “When they’re together, they’re a recipe for disaster. It’s unhealthy for them, mentally and physically. But that hasn’t stopped them repeating the pattern,” we’re told. “It’s happened so many times. Arg sorts himself out for a few months, they get back together, and then he goes off the rails again.” n
