They’re ready to talk things through
We’ve all been on a bit of a wild ride with Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth since they split this summer, but it seems the pair are ready to come back together… if only to talk divorce.
“Miley and Liam have agreed to put their differences aside and meet for mediation talks – before their messy divorce spirals out of control,” a source tells heat. “They’ve both calmed down now and Liam just wants this chapter done with, so he can move on.”
Liam, 29, has already moved on romantically and is now dating model and actress Maddison Brown, while Miley, 26, has very loudly informed the world she is with long-time pal Cody Simpson. Miley – who’s not known for keeping her opinion to herself – is said to be willing to compromise. “Miley’s promising to play nice and has recently stopped being quite so bitter towards Liam and Maddison, which has gone a long way to smoothing things over between them. Still, there’s a worry she may not be able to control her emotions when she’s one-on-one with Liam, so their talk may need to happen in a formal mediation setting.”
It’s taken a while for the pair to reach their newly mature state of mind, as our source explains. “When they first split, Miley and Liam both put any talk of formalities to one side and did what they both needed to just let off steam,” we’re told. “For Miley, it was all about partying and having this wild time with Kaitlynn, then Cody, who both did a great job of taking her mind off the divorce. Liam was angry and bitter in the beginning, but his family calmed him down and he started to heal, especially when he met Maddison and realised he was falling in love again.”
And now – although we’re told they have a prenuptial agreement – the former couple are going to have to start dividing their assets while keeping their emotions in check. “For all Miley’s bravado on social media, she’s been in pieces a lot of the time since the split. But regardless of whether or not they can be friends and act civilly towards each other, at the end of the day, they want to be done with each other with as little drama as possible. And this meeting is the only way to make that happen.”
