The royals are more like us than you’d think, as Kate proves with her night down the pub

Nothing gets in the way of a boozy mum meet-up

-

There ain’t no party like a mums’ night-out party – especially when it involves draught ale, bar snacks and sticky carpets at your local boozer. So, fair play to Kate Middleton, who wasn’t about to let her royal station get in the way of attending a mothers’ meet-up down the pub last month.

According to insiders, the boozy bash was held at the Hollywood Arms in Chelsea – which is, admittedly, slightly classier than your average Spoons – as a way for parents of new pupils at Thomas’s Battersea school to get to know each other. W hile Prince George has attended the school for two years now, Princess Charlotte has only just started, meaning Kate had some serious school-run rotas to arrange. And, apparently, like the masterful blue-blood she is, Kate snuck in through the rear entrance, joining her new yummy mummy friends in the pub’s private room, the Boulevard Bar, for a bevvy or two.

Judging by the room’s hefty price tag (£2,500 per night), coupled with its high-profile clientele (rumour has it that the secret side entrance was originally built for pub regular Prince Harry), we’re pretty sure she had a good time. After all, the bar prides itself on its reputation “as the place to see and be seen”, not to mention its extensive gin and cocktail list. Under these circumstances, it sounds like the best place imaginable for mums to gather and chat homework timetables and lunch box snacks. Or, you know, get royally pissed.
