DALTON HARRIS

The X Factor winner tells all

-

What can you remember from your winning moment on the show? I remember hearing, “Dalt–”, and then everything blacked out and I woke up in Louis’ dressing room. Louis was there, happy as a sunny day. Has it sunk in yet? No, not yet – and hopefully it never will. Why not? I think because it was such a surreal moment. Do you ever remember being your happiest, or have you ever felt incredibly inspired, and you’re like, “Oh my God!” Wouldn’t you wish you could stay in that feeling? Are you looking forward to having a bit of a break over Christmas? No break here! I don’t need a break – I just want to hit the ground running. Winning The X Factor didn’t make me some automatic big thing – now is when I need to be working. I’ll take a break, maybe, in 20 or 30 years from now, when I’ve really made it. Michael Jackson didn’t take a break. I can’t afford to. Not even on Christmas Day? I hope I have a gig, if I’m being honest with you. I’d love a gig on Christmas Day! Will you be making a New Year’s resolution? No, I don’t think you can just think [of something] automatically at the end of the year, do it for three days and then, voilà. Whatever I do, I want to make sure it’s done at my best – and that if I embark on it, I put my all into it. Is there anyone who you would particularly love to work with next year? Ariana Grande, Little Mix, Adele, The Beatles! I’d love to work with Nile Rodgers, too, and I’d love to work with Louis [Tomlinson] – we’ve had talks…
