‘she’s an emotional wreck, thinking about ending up in a hostel’
She’s had her fair share of weeks from hell in the past, but this one takes the biscuit. Last week, Katie Price hit rock bottom (we can only hope things don’t get worse), after officially being declared bankrupt, shortly before being ordered to pay £150k in legal costs to ex-husband Alex Reid, after showing sex tape footage of him to a TV audience. And never one to do things by halves, she upped the ante by splitting from toyboy Kris Boyson on the very same day, only to get back together less than 24 hours later. True to form, Katie – who was once worth £45m, but will now have to survive on basic living expenses for at least a year – remained defiant in public, insisting she’d “have the last laugh”. But behind the scenes, we’re told it was a different story, with the former glamour model in turmoil over her new budget lifestyle, and the likelihood that she’ll lose her so-called mucky mansion, which faces being sold to pay her debts. Now, we’re told, Katie is calling in favours, and knocking hard at ex-husband Peter Andre’s door for some Christmas goodwill.
“Katie’s called Pete and raged at him about helping her out,” says an insider close to the 41 year old, who shares
Junior, 14, and Princess, 12, with Peter, and is also mum to Harvey, 17, Jett, six, and five-year-old Bunny. “She hasn’t ruled out turning up at Christmas and asking to sleep over in order to be with the kids. She wants everyone around her to lend a hand to get her out of this mess, and that includes Pete. At the end of the day, they have two children together, and she’s begged him to have a heart and go easy on her this Christmas.”
Last week, just a day before the High Court declared her bankrupt, a “tipsy” Katie was overheard blaming Pete for
her insolvency. In 2012, she launched a very costly, failed legal action against him for “leaking private details”. Drinking from a can of wine, she told fellow commuters, “I’ve known it’s coming, going bankrupt, because I took him [Peter] to court. He’s the worst person ever.” But she insisted she’s “not bothered”, adding, “I f**king can’t wait. I’m better off.”
This came days after she said in a interview with “funding guru” Matt Haycox that she’s “not ashamed” of her financial situation, adding, “I’m still a successful businesswoman… I will have the last laugh. If only you knew what happens behind closed doors... I’m going to get back on my feet and I’m really excited about it.”
But, according to our source, Katie’s more bothered than she’s letting on. “She’s been crying that she can’t live off peanuts,” we’re told. “She used to spend £500 a day, and she’s saying it’s going to be hell living on the budget she’s been given for a year. She’s scared she’s going to age dramatically, because she can’t afford her beauty treatments, hair extensions, surgery and Botox.” As for her mucky mansion, we’re told, “She’s thinking of ways to avoid giving up her house – she’s an emotional wreck thinking about ending up in a hostel. She said she’d rather camp outside Pete’s house before she does that.”
Sounds like Pete’s in line for a Pricey Christmas.
