Meg’s horror as Prince Andrew asks her for help

‘Meghan’s kept her distance for a good reason’
As the world seems to be turning its back on Prince Andrew, he is apparently desperately reaching out for support. And the Prince has chosen an unlikely cheerleader – Duchess of Sussex Meghan. A royal insider tells us Andrew has had the genius idea, because, “He reasons that she knows what it’s like to be something of a royal outcast, and would like them to team up and support each other during their respective time of need.”
However, after a series of awful decisions by the 59-year-old royal, this seems to just be one more. “It’s a pretty delusional hope,” our source explains. “Meghan’s known to be revolted at the claims about Andrew, and she’s no big fan of Fergie, either. But Andrew’s desperate and he seems to think he can get her on side somehow.”

Epstein – who took his own life while in custody in August. His recent Newsnight interview, in which Andrew had hoped to clear up allegations (which he strongly denies) that he’d slept with 17-year-old sex slave Virginia Roberts in 2001 has opened the Duke up to more scrutiny. Last week, Virginia repeated her explosive claims in a Panorama special – and now we’re told Meghan wants absolutely nothing to do with Andrew. Our source says, “If he thinks Meghan, of all people, would want anything to do with him while his name is being dragged through the mud, then he’s very much mistaken. This is a person who has championed women’s rights, and it’s well known she has been utterly disgusted that such a prominent member of her extended family has been linked with someone as odious as Epstein. She’s kept her distance for a very good reason, so there isn’t even the slightest chance that she’ll feel any sympathy or want to associate with Andrew – certainly not one-onone – unless his name is cleared.”
Following the Prince’s disastrous interview, the Palace announced that he had decided to withdraw from his royal duties for the “foreseeable future”, after consulting with the Queen and Prince Charles. Reports then emerged that Charles is planning to reduce the number of royals when he is on the throne, and our insider reveals that Harry and Meghan are backing his plan. Our source says, “They fully support Charles’ desire to slim down the royal family, and take a zero-tolerance approach to any inappropriate action of any kind – however powerful or high up in the family a person is.” n
