Anatomy of an A-lister: Billie Faiers

The mum of two has nailed beach confidence. Here’s how...

#042 Billie Faiers

When we see her looking toned and confident posing in a one-piece on the beach, it’s hard to remember that when Billie, now 29, first appeared on screen in TOWIE back in 2010, she was 3st heavier than she is now. At the time, she received cruel jibes on Twitter that almost destroyed her confidence. “I knew I was a bit big, but having it known so publicly was hard,” she admits. Now, after tapping into a sensible exercise and diet regime, Billie says she’s happier in her own skin.

Get in the ring

Billie has to fit workouts in around her kids and has found an ingenious way to do so. “This will sound weird, but I’m really good at indoor hula hooping – and it’s great for your waist. Also, I do regular squats and sit-ups,” she says.

DNA, NO WAY!

Billie totally transformed her body in 2015 using DNA analysis to tailor her workouts. “My body type means I have to do 100 per cent endurance exercise, so running, squats, yoga and Pilates, rather than intense weight sessions and sit-ups,” she says.

Bin the booze

“Before I had children, I was out drinking all the time. Don’t get me wrong, I still love a prosecco or a white wine. I’ll have a few, but nothing like I used to. Back in the day, I’d be out three times a week, now it’s once a month if I’m lucky,” she says.

FAKE TAN BAN

She’s come a long way from the orange-hued lass we first saw on TOWIE, and insists she’s ditched the fake tan. “I don’t actually use it much any more,” she says. “I’ve seen past pictures of me where I’m bright orange with whiteblonde hair. What was I doing?”

STAIR MASTER

Forget spending hours slogging it out in a fancy gym, Billie gets her sweat on at home using the humble stairs. “I’ve never been one of those people who likes to go to the gym,” she admits, “So, I run up and down my stairs about 200 times a day for Nelly.”
