sophia tells Caitlyn: ‘No more reality tv!’
She wasn’t a fan of the jungle, apparently
We’re not sure what we were expecting from Caitlyn Jenner’s time in the I’m A Celeb jungle, but we certainly didn’t think we’d find her quite so darn likeable. An instant favourite in the camp, there’s no doubt she’s made a huge number of fans in the UK. However, there’s one person who was decidedly not a fan of Cait in red shorts – her partner, Sophia Hutchins.
“This has been tough on Sophia – she hates dealing with all the new scrutiny that’s being placed on their relationship,” a source tells heat. “She doesn’t handle it at all well when Cait’s not there to protect and advise her. Sophia sees herself as Cait’s self-appointed business advisor, and they talked a lot about whether doing this type of reality show was a good idea or not beforehand. She was worried it wasn’t, on the grounds it would open them both up to embarrassing speculation. And while Cait was sheltered from it in the jungle, Sophia was the one who had to deal with all the attention.”
Sophia, 23, moved in to 70-year-old Caitlyn’s Malibu house last year, but has always avoided revealing whether their relationship is romantic. Sophia has said, “We’re partners in everything we do, we’re inseparable – we’re business partners, we live together, we share a dog, we share family, we share a life together.”
However, we’re told that since Caitlyn’s appearance in the jungle, Sophia has struggled without her. Our source says, “Sophia’s a tough cookie, and she prides herself on being resilient, especially when it comes to her relationship with Cait. They’ve worked hard to keep things private and, while everyone knows they’re very much in love and it’s way more than a regular friendship, Sophia doesn’t see that it’s anyone else’s business but theirs.”
One person who was determined to make it the world’s business was Piers Morgan, who shocked
Sophia – and everybody else – when he asked if there was any “hanky panky” between the couple when he interviewed her on Good Morning Britain. Sophia later branded his questions, “Totally not cool”.
“Sophia insists she had no idea Piers would be grilling her so relentlessly,” our source reveals. “She was upset with Cait for putting her in this position in the first place. All of a sudden, she felt cornered. She missed Cait, and doesn’t want her to do anything like this again.” n
