VEGAS, BEY-BY! Beyoncé’s heading to Sin City

Watch out Celine Dion, she’s about to steal your crown

-

She’s headlined some of the biggest concerts in the world, including Glastonbury Festival and the Super Bowl’s half-time show. But make no mistake, Beyoncé’s not about to put her feet up just yet. According to insiders, the singer’s planning to follow in the footsteps of Lady Gaga and Britney Spears and announce her very own Las Vegas residency, after being offered a not-somodest $1million per show by hotel bigwigs. And, despite the singer’s reps denying the rumours, we’re told they’re simply buying time until a final deal is made.

“Bey doesn’t need the money, but she’s been offered millions to play in one of the most prestigious venues – it would be stupid to turn that down,” says an insider close to the 38 year old, who’s mum to Blue Ivy, seven, and two-year-old twins Sir and Rumi. “Nothing has been finalised yet, which is why her team are denying it, but it would actually be easy money for her and a lot less complicated than doing another world tour. She has three children and the family is based in LA, so getting to Vegas isn’t exactly hard.”

Since completing the epic 49-performance Formation World Tour three years ago, Beyoncé’s stayed relatively close to home. And according to sources, the singer’s made a conscious decision in recent years to dial down her work commitments in favour of family time – making a relatively stable residency in Vegas the perfect gig.

“It might seem like her career takes up all her time, but it’s quite the opposite,” a source has said. “Bey’s career is always second – her kids are her first priority.” What’s more, we’re told that the singer is understandably flattered to be offered such a plum gig.

“These days, Las Vegas is chock-a-block with superstar performers, and it’s no mean feat to be offered a place on their roster. As well as Gaga and Britney, Celine Dion, Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey and Cher have all had record-busting residencies, so Beyoncé’s name is a glaring omission – and she’s very tempted to right that wrong.

“It’s now totally acceptable for stars at their peak to have a Vegas residency. Depending on how she long she’s there for, Beyoncé could earn up to $1billion. She would definitely be the biggest star in Vegas and would no doubt sell out every night.”

We’d better start saving up now, then… ■
