Rehab wedding for Gemma & Arg

Pals are worried she’s ignoring the real issues

Gemma Collins and James “Arg” Argent have had many, many ups and downs in their relationship and, so far, 2020 seems to be no different for the reality star couple.

It was reported over the New Year that 32-year-old Arg had flown to Thailand and checked in to a rehab facility to deal with ongoing addiction issues, but according to an insider, Gemma wants to go full steam ahead with their marriage plans regardless. “Of course Gemma supports Arg, but she’s focusing on what she wants, and that’s marriage,” a source tell us. “She doesn’t seem that bothered that he’s had to check into rehab again to deal with his addiction issues.”

Arg – who spent ten weeks in a facility in Thailand in 2017

– had fans worried about his health towards the end of 2019, after emergency services were called to his house twice in the space of three months, following concerns that he’d overdosed.

However, progressing their relationship seems to be 38-yearold Gemma’s priority. “Rather than take a step back and give him some time, Gemma is busy figuring out their future together,” our insider says. “She’s still planning their wedding, as she’s said that neither of them are getting any younger and they need to get a move on if they’re going to have kids in the next few years. She’s even considering holding a ceremony in rehab after saying how beautiful it looked in Thailand, where Arg is staying. Gem thinks that it could be a good idea for both of them, as it would be alcohol-free and away from temptation.”

But Arg’s friends are hoping that she will realise things are more serious than she thinks. The insider adds, “As much as Gem wants him to be her husband, Arg clearly has more issues that he needs to work on before he can get to that point – and piling this amount of pressure on him is only going to cause a big setback.” n
