Caprice’s horror at ‘lazy diva’ claims
She wants to prove the haters wrong
She had been touted to win the show, but Caprice Bourret found herself in the midst of a Dancing On Ice drama last week, after her “diva behaviour” was blamed for the unexpected split with her professional partner Hamish Gaman.
After Holly Willoughby announced the pair would no longer be skating together, insiders reportedly branded Caprice “lazy” and a “diva”. A source claimed that there had been a “huge breakdown in [her relationship with Hamish] from the moment they met”, and that Caprice had been “reluctant to put in the hours” – with Hamish finding her “difficult to deal with”. Pictures also emerged of Hamish and Caprice appearing to argue during rehearsals, with the insider claiming, “They were really starting to hate each other.”
The 48 year old – who took to the ice last weekend with new partner Oscar Peter – was clearly horrified by the comments as, although she didn’t reply to questions about the split on Twitter, she was keen to get her opinion across in retweets. One – from the producer of Celebs On The Farm – wrote, “Don’t believe what you’re reading!” She called the mum of two “lovely” and said she was “always professional”. Other sources claimed that the split came because Hamish was “pushing [Caprice] too hard in training”.
“In the end, it became completely unworkable for them to carry on and, after speaking with the bosses, they called it quits,” the source said. “It was getting toxic, so stopping the partnership was best for everyone.” ■
