She’s seen her personal and professional life take a nosedive over the past six weeks, ever since she was arrested and charged with “assault by beating” following a 5am altercation with boyfriend Lewis Burton. In the aftermath, Caroline Flack was forced to quit her six-figure job on Love Island and break off all communication with Lewis ahead of her trial on 4 March, before fleeing to LA, where we’re told she’s been laying low, spending most of her time hiking and meditating.
But it’s only in the past couple of weeks that the weight of Caroline’s woes has really sunk in, as she’s been forced to watch her TV rival Laura Whitmore fill her shoes – and get an amazing reception. “As happy as Caroline is for Laura, it’s hard seeing her friend do the job she loves,” says an insider close to the 40 year old. “She’s worried there’s no way she can come back from this now.”
But, we’re told, it’s the courtimposed distance from Lewis that’s been causing the biggest heartache. Luckily for her, she’s in LA, where holistic healing makes the impossible possible. “Caroline has really been given some hope over the whole situation by visiting a psychic who specialises in relationships, to see what the future holds for her and Lewis,” says the insider. “She says it’s the only way she can really communicate with him, because she can’t legally contact him, which has been driving her crazy. After a few readings, Caroline’s mood has really been lifted.”

charged with assault, after it was alleged that she had caused a “significant” head injury to Lewis. Despite pleading not guilty, and Lewis publicly supporting her, the couple, who have been dating since last summer, were ordered to break off all contact – including via social media – until the trial is over. According to our source, not being able to communicate with Lewis has been “the toughest thing that Caroline’s ever had to face”. But thanks to her psychic, she’s focusing on a brighter future – and one that definitely includes Lewis.
According to our source, once the court case is over, she’s plotting a big comeback, which will see her distance herself from her party girl past and relaunch herself with a more wholesome image. This will see her swap boozy nights out for cosy nights in with Lewis, and fronting as much family friendly
TV as possible. The insider adds that she’s been promising friends she’ll “hire a sober coach and an anger-management specialist” as soon as she returns to the UK, in an attempt to clean up her act for good.
“Caroline has quit drinking before – it’s something she’s been thinking about for a while now, as well as giving up partying for good,” we’re told. “Her friends have encouraged her to get a sober coach, so she doesn’t put herself under too much pressure to do it alone, plus have some angermanagement classes to deal with some bad emotional habits she’s picked up over the years.”
The insider continues, “She’s been told that everything the universe throws at you is a test. She’s starting to see light at the end of the tunnel and she’s really leaning into positive thinking.”■
