Mum-to-be Cheryl: ‘I miss our family unit’

The reality of being a single mum sets in

-

They’ve tried to be as amicable as possible ever since they split 18 months ago, and it seems Cheryl and Liam Payne are now getting on better than ever. The former couple – who have two-year-old son Bear – have been spending more time together recently, and as Cheryl, 36, again looks ahead to her motherhood journey by using a sperm donor, it has made her realise how much she misses him.

“Cheryl and Liam are in a really good and honest place right now,” says an insider close to Cheryl, who last month revealed her plans to have two more children by using a donor “from abroad”. “They still have couples’ therapy from time to time to make sure they are in agreement when it comes to parenting, but obviously things are brought up about their relationship. “Cheryl has been really open about the fact that she’s been in therapy for quite a while now, and the bulk of it has been to help her with issues surrounding her career, her relationship with Liam, and raising Bear as a single mother. It’s really helped her in times of need, and it’s why she’s so open and honest with herself – now more than ever.”

And as Cheryl faces the reality of having a second baby on her own, it has made her appreciate what she had with 26-year-old Liam – who is currently dating teen model Maya Henry – and how supportive he was while she was pregnant with Bear.

“Cheryl knows that having a baby by herself is going to be hard, and growing close to Liam again has shown her how much she’s missed him,” our source adds. “She loved the family unit they had with Bear. She knows Liam is happy with Maya, but that doesn’t stop her missing how things were, especially when they get on so well and she knows what a great dad he is.” n
