We get the lowdown on Love Island’s Shaughna
She’s already a winner in our eyes
From day one, we’ve been big fans of Shaughna Phillips here at heat. The no-nonsense Londoner is not only a stunner, she has solidified her status as an iconic Islander with her hilarious one-liners, unfiltered opinions and relatability. Here are more reasons why we love this gal…
1 SHE’S AN ISLANDER FAVE
We’re not the only ones who love the Democratic Services Officer (try saying that when you’re drunk). Ex-islanders have been jumping on the Shaughna bandwagon. Dom Lever said she had “no filter”, Anna Vakili said she loves her, and Laura Anderson called her a “ledge”.
2 SHE’S A GIRL’S GIRL
Always looking out for her fellow ladies, Shaughna has made some solid friends in the villa. On an episode of Aftersun, she said
Paige was probably her closest pal, because, “She’s aggy like me and we hate the same things. ”
3 SHE’S TOO GOOD FOR CALLUM
Since the pair coupled up, fans have been voicing their doubts. “Callum is not worthy of Shaughna, he can’t handle a real bitch,” one tweeted. Another wrote, “Shaughna is too strong for Callum.” And one fan went into detail, saying, “They’re incompatible and he really isn’t attracted to her [in my opinion]. I hope she meets someone more in sync with her during Casa Amor, because she deserves a man with a larger vocabulary and wit.”
4 SHE GIVES THE BEST QUOTES
With lines such as, “I’m having a Tony Blair in ’ere,” and, “I’m in here to find a boyfriend, not a son,” the 25 year old has provided us with some epic quotes. When she was briefly apart from Callum after a brutal recoupling, she inspired memes everywhere with the line, “Got a text... not a man.”
5 SHE SAYS IT LIKE IT IS
Last week, when she sat down for } a calm and mature conversation with Sophie about her actions towards Nas and Demi, she wasn’t afraid to speak her mind, which is why viewers are calling her “the realest person in there”.
6 SHE’S GOING TO WIN
Shaughna is currently the bookies’ favourite to win the show – whether or not she does it with Callum is yet to be seen. But, as Amber Gill showed us last year, if you’re popular enough on your own, you can carry a man to victory as your arm candy. ■
