Lisa’s shocking texts to Ant’s current girlfriend. Eek

After two years, Ant’s ex-wife has had enough

- KATE RANDALL

She’s kept her silence as much as she could during her two-year divorce battle with ex-husband Ant Mcpartlin, but it looks as if Lisa Armstrong has finally snapped. In the wake of their divorce settlement finally being agreed, it’s been claimed that the Strictly make-up artist sent Ant’s girlfriend Anne-marie Corbett text messages last month, telling her she was “hated”. “With all the stress of the past couple of years, Lisa is probably exhausted,” a source said. “She snapped and fired off a string of middle-of-the-night texts, one of which told Anne- Marie that everyone hated her. Obviously, Anne-marie was extremely shaken and upset. She had hoped that, after all this time, everyone could have moved on.”

Lisa has made her feelings about Anne-marie – who worked as the couple’s PA – well known, ever since she and Ant got together almost two years ago, just months after Lisa and Ant’s split. When their relationship was confirmed, a devastated Lisa tweeted, “My friend and our PA who I let into our home,” alongside a broken heart emoji. She also liked several tweets accusing Ant and Annemarie of being insensitive. Lisa was again left furious after Ant gave an interview claiming Anne-marie had been his “rock” during his drink-and-drugs rehab hell. It is not known whether mum-of-two Anne-marie replied to the texts, but tensions between

the two women apparently remain high. And we’re told Lisa, 43, now believes Ant and Anne-marie are trying to make her look bad.

“Lisa is convinced Ant and Anne-marie are trying to score points with the British public,” an insider tells heat. “No one behaved perfectly in all this – everyone has traded insults with each other at some point – and Lisa says it’s ‘laughable’ that Anne-marie was left shaken by anything Lisa did to her. She feels they’re trying to bully her out of the showbiz world by making her look like the villain, and now she knows she has to be strong, stand up for herself and get her own back. She’s sharpening her claws right now, because she has lots of damning details about what Ant put her through, and what she suspects Annemarie of having done.”

Lisa and Ant were together for over 20 years and married in 2006. However, in January 2018, the TV presenter announced his marriage was over, following a stint in rehab. It was thought Lisa never wanted to split, but Ant soon moved on with Anne-marie. During his first time in rehab, Ant was quick to credit Lisa for the support she had given him, but after his second spell in recovery later in 2018, he spoke openly about how much Annemarie had done for him.

“Ant went from praising Lisa in interviews, saying she had helped him through rehab, to then suddenly crediting Annemarie with getting him through his darkest days. Lisa was like, ‘Well, which one of us is it? Me or Anne-marie?’ It left her feeling confused, to say the very least,” we’re told. “She’s defending her reaction to Ant’s relationship with Anne-marie for the simple fact that Lisa was friends with Anne-marie and she was hired to work for them both.”

The insider continues, “In the grand scheme of things, Lisa feels she could have acted a lot worse than she did. Her friends have praised the way she’s handled the situation, saying they wouldn’t have been able to stay so dignified.”

But we’re told Lisa feels as if she is being made to look bad. As heat reported previously, Lisa

– who shares custody of chocolate

Labrador Hurley with Ant – has been enjoying spending time with music executive Jeremy Hewitt, and sources say they are still hanging out and going on dates. However, she’s taking things slowly, and we’re told that, while she is trying to move on, she feels like she’s being dragged back into a conflict again.

“Lisa has kept a dignified silence, but she feels she is being tested to her limits right now with all these accusations levelled at her,” our insider says. “She’s slowly building her confidence back up and making plans for the future – selling their marital home and moving in with her girlfriends, and taking meetings with TV executives about joining a prime-time show. She wants to send the message that she isn’t going anywhere, and that she won’t sit back and be bullied by all these claims about her so-called bad behaviour.”

The source adds, “Lisa maintains that she isn’t the guilty party here. Yes, she has liked a few supportive tweets here and there, but she’s never given a tell-all interview, while Ant has spoken openly about his struggles, and his love for Anne-marie. Lisa doesn’t think Anne-marie is as saintly as she makes out, and believes time will tell with regards to how it all works out.

“She is doing her best to try and be strong and move on – but she can’t help but feel as though they are trying to paint her in a bad light, and she’s not having it. Lisa just wants to be left alone by both of them.” n
