With four sons and Wayne in the house, Coleen reckons a daughter would go down a treat

‘In her heart, she’s desperate for a little princess’
There’s no denying she loves being a mum to her four boys, but as Coleen Rooney contemplates having another baby, she’s not sure she can cope with another Rooney boy in the house. The 33-year-old WAG has Kai, ten, Klay, six, Kit, four, and two-year-old Cass with husband Wayne and, as heat has reported, they would love another baby soon, with Coleen desperate for it to be a girl.
“Cass is now two, and Coleen has been feeling a little broody, as she loves babies,” an insider tells us. “But she really wants a girl – she’s already got four boys and sometimes she can feel a bit outnumbered. She absolutely loves them, but looking after them can be very full-on. They’re all so boisterous and she’s just not sure she would be able to handle another one. She thinks a daughter might help calm the house down.
But, we’re told, there’s one problem. “She’s really torn about getting pregnant again – she’s convinced that she would have another boy. Of course, she’d adore any baby regardless, but she’s got her heart set on a little girl, so she doesn’t know what to do.”
The insider adds that, while Coleen is enjoying getting her life back more now that she doesn’t have a small baby to deal with, she would really like one more. Her relationship with Wayne is also stronger than ever, following more than two years of his drunken misdemeanours, which threatened to end their marriage. But, we’re told, she can’t help but feel as if something is missing from their family life.
“On the one hand Coleen says she’s fine – that it’s time to work on her career and start putting herself first, but then, whenever
she’s with pregnant friends or friends with little girls, she gets all broody – in her heart, she’s desperate for a little princess,” says the insider. “She’s still really young in terms of fertility, and knows she easily has time to have another one or two. But she has to decide if she wants a baby or just a baby girl. She’s told friends that, as perfect as all the boys are, her family won’t feel complete unless she has her own mini-me.”
We’re told Coleen’s keenness for a girl has increased in recent weeks. Her WAG rival Rebekah Vardy had her fifth child – and third daughter – in December, and has been gushing about her baby girl in public ever since. “Coleen’s looked into options, she’s read everything you can about what diet and vitamins can do, but she knows it’s all down to genes and Wayne seems to only make boys,” our source says.
The insider adds, “She can feel a bit envious sometimes, when she sees mums with their daughters, but Coleen is determined when she puts her mind to something and, while she knows Wayne is happy with their family now, she also knows she can sway him – if it’s what she really wants, then he will likely go along with it to make her happy. She knows a baby girl will complete them and really cement them as a family.” ■
