Tamara goes extra for her sis

Here’s how you do a billionaire baby shower

- CHARLOTTE OLIVER

You know you’re in for a treat when Tamara Ecclestone, the undisputed doyenne of overblown parties, is throwing a do. And she didn’t disappoint last week, putting on the most sumptuous pink-themed party for her sister Petra, who’s awaiting the arrival of her fourth child. Rest assured, the event had it all – including a love-heart-themed photo booth, a decadent lunch, and enough pink lighting to illuminate a life-sized Barbie palace.

Proving you can’t keep a party planner down for long, Tamara, 35, opened the doors of her £70million London home, just over two months after burglars broke into the megamansion and stole £50million worth of jewellery. Posing for photos with her five-yearold daughter Sophia, the Formula 1 heiress told followers she was ready for an “afternoon full of love… celebrating mummy Petra”, who arrived sporting some fabulous Minnie Mouse ears, obviously.

Proceedings kicked off with guests tucking into Dover sole, chicken Milanese and Laurentperrier Champagne, before heading to the dessert station (with a four-tiered cake). If that wasn’t enough, they knuckled down for a bit of fun-filled nappy changing – practising on dolls before Petra (or the nanny) is doing it for real.

It’s an exciting time for the socialite, who’s expecting her first child with fiancé Sam Palmer. The 31 year old is already mum to three children, daughter Lavinia, six, and four-year-old twins Andrew and James, who she shares with ex-husband James Stunt, who she split from acrimoniously in 2017. If her baby shower’s anything to go by, the future’s oh-so-rosy for Petra and her growing brood. n
