Sheridan Smith has had her ups and downs over the years, but as she counts down the days until she welcomes her baby with fiancé Jamie Horn, it seems she’s currently on cloud nine. And how better to celebrate starting a family than jetting off on vacay together? Well, an insider tells heat, the actress is eager to go on a “luxury healing holiday” once the baby has been born.
“Sheridan is so grateful that she’s had the opportunity to become a mother,” says our source. “But she had a rocky few years before she met Jamie and got pregnant, and she’s a little worried about the challenges that motherhood brings. So, she and Jamie are booking a healing holiday after the birth, so they can both chill out and just enjoy some time together as a family.”
The 38-year-old actress announced her pregnancy back in October, and is expected to give birth to a baby boy in the next few weeks. Sheridan has enjoyed sharing pregnancy updates with her fans on Instagram, and posted a snap of her with Jamie, 30, at Christmas captioned, “Us pretending to be responsible adults ready for whatever life throws our way.”
The Tv-and-stage star hit a rough patch after losing her father over three years ago, and admitted to battling with alcohol issues and mental ill health in the past. She has credited getting her life and career back on track to her fiancé, who she met on Tinder in 2018.
Our source tells us, “Sheridan really wants to take stock of everything she’s been through and make sure she is back on the right path. She wants to close a chapter on so many of her demons, and she’s planning to do that by embracing motherhood.”
And while she has had a few run-ins with Jamie’s family – she once accused his mum of killing one of her dogs, calling her a “nut job”, and more recently made a dig at her in-laws over Christmas – our source tells us, “Sheridan’s friends say she’s in a better place than ever.” ■
