Why the Fab Four will NEVER HEAL THEIR RIFT

Their reunion only served to widen the gap between them

It was their final chance to stand together on the world’s stage as a family who were still united despite their difference­s. Instead, last week’s Commonweal­th Day service at Westminste­r Abbey only served to hammer the final nail in the coffin of any memories we once had of the Fab Four. Yes, as Prince William and Kate Middleton took their seats – offering a brief “hello” to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as they sat a row behind them – the two couples couldn’t have seemed further apart. And according to insiders, the tension behind the scenes was toxic.

“Kate and Meghan struggle to get along at this point, and it’s hard for either of them to pretend otherwise,” a Buckingham Palace insider tells heat. “They were both dreading the encounter. Meghan was able to act her way through it, despite being very uncomforta­ble, but Kate can’t hide her emotions, which is why she looked so miserable and stressed. It was hard enough for her to greet Harry and Meghan, but the tension lingered throughout the service. The way that Meghan sees it, Kate has been cold towards her, so she sees no harm in her and Harry keeping their distance and only exchanging pleasantri­es on formal occasions like this one.”

By all accounts, it was always going to be an emotionall­y charged day for the two couples, given that it was Harry and Meghan’s final appearance as senior royals. Last year, the brothers and their wives seemed closer than ever as they stood side by side and waited for the Queen’s arrival – but just a year later, at the very same event, they barely spoke. While Meghan offered a smiling, “Hi” to William and Kate as they found their seats, it was clear that no one was in from viewers at home, the general consensus is that the rift between them all will never be healed.

“Harry and Meghan don’t want to be a part of William and Kate’s life. They made that very clear publicly,” said one royal follower, while another weighed in, “If anybody was still in denial, today
