How Harry fell victim to a prank call – and Meg isn’t happy about it

He got phoned by a phony

-

Not going to lie, we always bear our souls to Greta Thunberg whenever she gives us a call. So, we can’t blame Prince Harry for doing the same, talking to the famed environmentalist and her father Svante about “starting a new life” after Megxit, moving to Canada, and his and Meghan’s goals for the future. There was only one problem – “Greta and Svante” were, in fact, a couple of Russian pranksters, and Harry got royally duped. Now, we’re told that Harry has been left reeling – and Meghan has told him she’s mortified at his stupidity. Not that we can blame her, as we’re cringing from here.

“Meghan can’t believe Harry would be so naïve and easily tricked,” says an insider close to Harry who, according to reports last week, took two calls from “Greta” on New Year’s Eve and 22 January from his and Meg’s bolthole in Canada. “Meghan finds it really embarrassing. She knows people interpret Harry as her personal puppet, so she’s sure she’ll be blamed for having some part in this. As she sees it, Harry comes across as opinionated, gullible and foolish.”

It’s certainly a massive blunder for Harry, who didn’t hold back in the chat. Confiding in “Greta”, he said he’d quit royal life to “protect my son”, and argued, “I was in the military for ten years, so I’m more normal than my family would like to believe”. And, incredibly, despite criticism of his use of private jets, he told the activist – who’ll only travel overseas by boat – that he actually flew “nowhere near as much as most people who do it for a night or weekends.” We think his definition of “normal” might be a little different to ours... ■
