Aday in the life of Kim Kardashian involves looking after four kids, studying to be a lawyer, designing new skintight underwear for SKIMS, doing a couple of sultry #sponsored Instagram photo shoots, filming for Keeping Up With The Kardashians and generally being an all-round fabulous brand. So, trying to squeeze in some quality time with husband Kanye West can accidentally fall way down the priority list when you’ve got a multi-million dollar empire to run.
But an insider close to the reality star tells us she’s come up with a clever solution – speedy date nights. “Kim and Kanye’s schedules are busier than they’ve ever been these days, so it’s challenging for them to fit in time together,” the insider says. “Even hanging out with their best friends has taken a back seat recently. But they’re both on the same page that date nights are a must, even if they need to be scaled back by a few hours. They’re both committed to working on their marriage and know that things have slid between them in the past when they don’t bother spending time together.”
The couple – who have kids North, six, Saint, four, Chicago, two, and ten-month-old Psalm – have decided to cut down their dates to two hours in order to be able to continue with their manic lives, according to our insider. “In the past, they’d try to set aside the whole of a Friday or Saturday evening, with the nannies taking care of the kids at home,” we’re told. “That’s gone out the window now as they’ve got so much going on and can’t be unavailable for that long. Kim has a rule that they turn off their phones during the dates, but it means that once they’re on again, messages are flooding in and they’re back in business mode right away. Often, they’ll get home from one of these quickie dinners, then have to disappear into their individual offices to return calls or sign off on things before going to sleep.
“It’s put a bit of a downer on things romantically, but they both insist this is the only way to still do date nights.” Can we suggest the fine dining experience of Mcdonald’s Drive Thru to keep things snappy? ■
