Vogue Williams is the latest celeb to spring a pregnancy on us…

Theodore is getting a little sister!

In a world that’s feeling a little doom and gloom at the moment, celebrity baby news most definitely provides some much-needed joy. Last week, Vogue Williams and Spencer Matthews announced that they are expecting a second child. And the TV stars – who already have 18-month-old son Theodore – were thrilled to reveal that they will be having a little girl this summer.

“We’re delighted. It’s so exciting, but kind of scary to think we’re going to have another newborn,” Vogue, who’s five-and-a-half months pregnant, said in an interview last week. “There’s no doubt that I feel lucky to be having another baby. It isn’t easy for everyone, and it was certainly a different path for us this time, so it’s really nice to be here and talking about it now.”

Fans were surprised to discover that the bundle of joy is due to arrive in the summer, as Vogue has managed to keep her pregnancy hidden for months. She even spent most of January – when she was more than three months pregnant – in a bikini during a prolonged break in St Barts. The TV presenter and model had clearly been careful with the photos she was sharing on Instagram, posting cleverly angled shots or ensuring that she was wearing slightly baggy clothes. She joked, “People are definitely starting to look at me, and I can tell they’re wondering, ‘Why does her tummy keep getting bigger when she’s always in the gym?’ So, I think I’ve hidden it for as long as possible.”

The couple spoke candidly of how they had struggled to get pregnant as quickly as they had with Theodore. “Our journey this time hasn’t been as easy and straightforward as the last one, and for that reason, we wanted to keep it under wraps for longer,” they said. Vogue, 34, discovered that she has PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome), which can make it more difficult to conceive. Spencer, who previously told heat that the couple are keen to have a “large family”, admitted he’d had some concerns. “I wouldn’t say alarm bells were going off, but we did wonder how we could make it work a bit more efficiently,” he revealed. The couple haven’t yet said if they will film any more of their popular reality series – which first focused on the arrival of baby Theodore, and then on the couple’s second wedding – but Spencer, 31, already seems to be channelling his creativity into naming his daughter. “There’s an amazing opportunity to have fun with girls’ names in particular, and to be creative – a little bit wild even,” the EX-MIC star said. “So many cool, exotic names lend themselves to being very usable.” One thing’s for sure, we know she won’t be called Chelsea… ■
