Taylor Swift’s going down the pub… to get married

urely one of the joys of being an A-lister is that you can have the most OTT, garish wedding and no one is allowed to call you tacky? Well, it seems Taylor Swift is forgoing that perk and has decided she’d rather have a more low-key affair when she ties the knot with boyfriend Joe Alwyn. So low-key, in fact, that she’s planning on holding it in a boozer.
“Taylor has decided that she wants a small pub wedding with Joe and just a handful of their friends and family,” an insider tells heat. “While part of her has always wanted a big fairy-tale
Swedding near her home [in Rhode Island in the US], her relationship with Joe has completely changed her views on love – it’s made her think twice about why she wanted a big day like that and who it was really for.”
Taylor and actor Joe have been dating for almost four years and have always kept their relationship relatively private, something Taylor is taking into account for potential wedding plans. We’re told, “She really thought she would follow in the footsteps of Jennifer Lawrence, who had a big, star-studded ceremony last year. But Taylor knew, deep down, it wasn’t what Joe wanted and was scared that her big plans would put him off.”
Our insider adds that Taylor, 30, would like to have the wedding in north London – where 29-yearold Joe hails from and they currently live. “She knows that

Joe is much happier away from the spotlight and loves his quiet life in the UK. It’s become an escape for her, too – she loves just hanging out in north London with Joe and his mates. She feels as though she can really disappear and get away from all the pressures she faces as a pop star. Of course, she knows she’s going to be letting down some of her extended family and a lot of her famous friends, because not everyone is going to get an invite to the wedding, but she’s hoping they can do a bigger celebration in the US later instead.”
And while, at one point, we would have imagined the guest list to feature a whole host of famous faces, we’re told there’s only one showbiz pal Taylor will be inviting. “In terms of famous faces, the only person Taylor wants to invite is Selena Gomez, as she’s remained one of her most loyal friends through thick and thin,” we’re told. “But aside from that, it’s going to just be her mom and dad, her brother Austin, and a handful of her best girlfriends. She can’t wait to call herself Mrs Alwyn.” ■
