The first female winner loved every minute in the house
Can you believe it’s been 18 years since you won Big Brother? It makes me feel really old! There are people who I work with who say they weren’t even born when I was on Big Brother. It’s pretty terrifying. But it was such a great experience – I look back at that time with really fond memories. Are you nervous to watch it back? I’m really excited! I’ve only ever seen clips, like when I drunkenly tried to put on every item of clothing. When I look back at all the embarrassing stuff I did, it was all when I was drunk – which was basically 64 days out of 64 days. What’s your favourite memory? I find it hard to believe that Alison Hammond was evicted in week two, because a lot of my fondest memories were with her. A real memory for me was when we did the World Cup challenge – however many keepieuppies the girls did between them meant however many minutes of the England match we could watch. And, of course, Alison breaking the table.
Are you still friends with your housemates? Yeah, Alison, PJ [Ellis] and Jonny [Regan] are my crew – we have a little Whatsapp group and it’s nice to stay in touch. I’m so proud of Alison. We’re sorry to hear that you and your fiancé Martin had to cancel your wedding… Yeah, we were supposed to be getting married this month, but we wouldn’t have been able to have the wedding we wanted so we decided to have it next year. We were gutted, but it’s one of those things, and we’ll do something nice on what would have been our wedding day. The most important thing is that we have each other and we have our health – especially right now. Did Martin watch you on the show? Yeah, he says he fancied me, but he didn’t “wife” me at that point.
