Simon is finally ready to propose
And he’s feeling broody, too!
After rumours of an affair between Simon Cowell and Mel B – which he described as nonsense and blew our minds, tbh – it seems things between the 60 year old and girlfriend Lauren Silverman are back on track and better than ever. So much so, an insider close to the music mogul tells us he wants to pop the question to Lauren, 42.
“After all the affair rumours, Simon’s realised he wants to show the world how strong his relationship with Lauren is by proposing,” we’re told. “He never thought he’d get married, but she’s made him so happy by making him a dad and now he wants to marry her.”
Simon got together with Lauren in 2013, while she was still married to her ex, who she shares 14-year-old son Adam with. She welcomed her second son, Eric, with Simon just a year later. In May, rumours surfaced that the couple had split, and that Lauren had accused Simon of having an affair with Mel B when they were working together on America’s Got Talent two years ago. But according to our source, apart from having to deal with these false stories, lockdown in their LA home has actually been good for the couple.
“Simon and Lauren have never been closer and if he’s learnt anything over the past few months, it’s that family is the most important thing,” our source says. “He’s loved hanging out with Lauren and Eric. They’ve shown him how much fun it can be to just be at home, spend time with each other, and have fun and not worry about work.”

‘Marriage and a baby would complete their family’
for six-year-old Eric. “Having Eric was life-changing for him and he’s thrilled he’s got his mini-me and someone who will take over his business. Now he’s ready for another baby,” says the source.
Last week, Simon shared a letter that Eric had written him for Father’s Day, calling it, “My favourite thing I’ve ever had.” Eric wrote, “I like to waddle, you like to waddle. I like fish and you like fish. You like to swim and I like to swim. I like to walk in your footsteps standing tall like you. You have webbed feet and I have webbed feet… and I will always love you, Eric.”
Now, Eric might have to make space in the family mansion for a little sister, as we’re told Simon would love a daughter. “Ideally, he’d love a little girl and everyone says they can see him with his own little princess,” the insider adds. “He feels getting married and having a daughter would complete their family.” n
