Do you think The Voice Kids is a good antidote for the world at the moment?

I do, yeah. It’s a lovely little feel-good show, isn’t it? And seeing kids who have these massive voices and are hugely talented – they just make you smile, don’t they? Although I say that, I was watching the first episode and I was eating my lunch – y’know, because I know what happens – and Matt [her husband] was stood behind me just crying his eyes out. And I was like, “Oh no, it’s meant to be happy!” But it takes you all over the place, even the cute moments can make you cry with happiness. We need a little bit of light to watch on the telly, because we’re surrounded by lots of darkness at the minute.

Which coach do think could take the 2020 crown?

My money’s on Will this year.

Which of the coaches would you pick to go on the celeb edition of The Circle, which you host?

I would pick Will. I find Will fascinating. That’s probably why he catches me staring at him a lot when we’re filming. I just love the way his brain ticks. ■
