Can you describe your character Alexis in one sentence? A brilliant and yet slightly dim socialite, with a big heart in there somewhere. Do you have any favourite quotes from the show? Basically anything that comes out of Catherine O’hara’s mouth. I think the time that stands out to me is when she made the word “how” about four syllables long. Did you take any souvenirs from the set? I am now the proud owner of Alexis’ “Pubic Relations” diploma. I also have the painting of the boats that was above Johnny and Moira’s bed.

‘I’d say yes to another series’

You’re such a close cast – do you have a Whatsapp group? Well, we would if Eugene and Catherine felt more confident and capable with technology [Laughs]. To watch Eugene do anything regarding his phone is something. Actually, on set, we would silently gather and tap each other to alert everyone to the fact that Eugene was on his phone and trying to send an email.

Be honest, do you ever play A Little Bit Alexis at home? No, I would have to be a horrific monster to do that! Imagine if I sat my friends down every Friday night and made them listen to it? I do get such a kick when I hear that it’s getting played in clubs, and people are genuinely responding to it as a proper song and not a ridiculous whatever the heck it is. How do you think Alexis would have handled lockdown? She would be in the middle of the Caribbean on a catamaran with Harry Styles and Rihanna, and would somehow have made even more friends and inexplicably have gotten herself into even more trouble. If Dan Levy phoned you tomorrow and said he was writing another season, how long would you have to think about it? I’d be like, “Oh, you’ve been getting the $5 bribes I’ve been sending you every day? Fantastic!” I’d say yes a year ago. n
