Is a pricey divorce on the cards for Kim and Kanye?

She wants to help him get better, but their marriage is over

Kanye West has spoken out multiple times in public about the bipolar disorder he was first diagnosed with in 2016. But over the past few weeks, family and fans have expressed fears for the rapper as he’s displayed increasingly erratic behaviour. And while wife Kim Kardashian is desperately worried about her husband and wants to help him as much as possible, we’re told there’s seemingly no going back following the fallout from his latest outbursts and, as far as she’s concerned, the marriage is over.

Kanye’s behaviour first sparked concern when he launched his US presidential campaign earlier this month. He then held an explosive rally, in which he claimed that Kim had considered having an abortion while pregnant with their seven-year-old daughter North – and that he’d convinced her not to. From there, his actions became more concerning: in now-deleted tweets, he called Kim and her mum Kris Jenner “white supremacists”, accused them of trying to get him “locked up” and said he’s been trying to get a divorce since 2018, when Kim met rapper Meek Mill at a hotel to talk about prison reform. He also blasted her for posing for Playboy.

In response, Kim, 39, released an emotional statement, telling followers that Kanye, 43, is a “brilliant but complicated person” and that, while she was desperate to help him, she was “powerless”, adding, “The individual themselves has to engage in the process of getting help, no matter how hard family and friends try.” She also asked her followers to show more “compassion and empathy” for people suffering with mental ill health.

According to sources, the reality star is beside herself with worry – their marriage was already on its

last legs and now sadly she feels she has no choice but to walk away. “Kim is in shock – she feels like her life is imploding,” says an insider close to the reality star, who shares four kids – North, seven, Saint, four, Chicago, two, and one-year-old Psalm – with Kanye. “Since lockdown, Kim and Kanye have been living increasingly separate lives. But she also knows she has to help him get through this – especially for the sake of the children. The fact that Kanye’s now brought their daughter into their issues is a step too far, even with all the unpredictable things he’s said and done in the past. She literally sat and watched his rally speech with her mouth wide open, totally speechless. She knows he’s not well, but she’s not sure how much more she can take. It’s incredibly stressful.”

According to our source, Kim’s also wary of the damage Kanye’s causing to the family brand. We’re told her sisters and mum Kris are rallying around her – but they’re all worried about what else Kanye’s going to publicly say about them (he already referred to Kris as “Kris Jong-un”). And his obsession with money – he recently congratulated Kim on becoming a billionaire and, in another now-deleted tweet, said he was worth $5billion – makes her worried about the financial implications of getting a divorce.

‘Kim’s not sure how much more of this she can take’

“Seeing Kim being so badly embarrassed is one thing, but it’s also worrying to imagine what his words are doing to the family brand as a whole,” says our source. “They’re afraid that they’re turning into a laughing stock. It’s a nightmare of epic proportions, and they’re all deeply concerned, both for him and for themselves.” n
