FRANKIE BRIDGE WANTS MORE BABIES

How lockdown has changed the mum of two’s perspective

- SUZANNE BAUM

‘I love babies… I’m not so sure Wayne is on the same page’

Frankie Bridge is the ultimate do-it-all mum. Juggling work with her two sons – Parker, seven, and five-year-old Carter – the former Saturdays singer still manages to find time to work out, treat her husband to romantic date nights, help us online shop with her #frankiesfaves fashion Instagram posts, and host a candid podcast on the topic of mental health. We’re exhausted just writing that. So, how does she do it all while there’s also a global pandemic happening? Let’s find out…

How did you all cope as a family over lockdown? We’re just so lucky that we have a big house and garden, so we can’t complain. As with every other working parent, it was very hard at times, but the boys adapted really well. Obviously, I have spoken out about my mental health in the past, and although I found it hard with having less work, I loved the fact I had my podcast to focus on, as it gave me an outlet. How did you and Wayne get on? We were fine. I kept saying to Wayne that I’m pretty sure a lot of people will come out of it either divorced or pregnant. Thankfully, it is the latter. So many of my friends are pregnant now, which has made me a little broody. So, are the rumours true that you’re planning a third? I just love babies. One day, I am broody to have another one and the next, I’m not. It depends what frame of mind you find me in. I’m not so sure Wayne is on the same page. I mean, we are so lucky we have two healthy kids – and I cannot wait to be an auntie to my sister’s twins when they arrive soon. How do you look after yourself these days? It is so important for me to take care of myself, as I have had a lot of issues I have had to deal with. I try to eat well and keep up my fitness. I have also cut down on drinking a lot. I was never a big drinker, but since I have been working on a brand campaign with Atopia, the ultra-low alcohol spirit, I have introduced it to everyone. It tastes like alcohol and doesn’t leave you with any bad hangover. Wayne loves a drink, but when he has this, he is satisfied – and even my sister, who is pregnant, can enjoy it! n
