Sam & Billie’s BODY BATTLES
The Faiers sisters are getting competitive
‘Sam wishes she was doing something active’
We’ve all seen the Kardashians do battle when it comes to owning the spotlight, and the Faiers sisters aren’t much different – in their eyes, anyway. An insider close to Billie and Sam tells heat that there is some friendly rivalry between the two now that Billie is doing Dancing On Ice. While the pair clearly get on well – as can be seen in The Mummy Diaries – it seems Billie’s new exercise regime for the ice-skating competition has got her feeling anxious, and Sam’s not that happy about it, either. “Like a lot of people, the girls have insecurities, and they’re both very focused when it comes to their exercise and diet regimes,” our insider says of the former TOWIE stars. “Billie has been trying to tone up a bit as she’s going to be in sparkly see-through costumes soon, and she’s been hula-hooping to keep herself fit. But what’s really got her worried is the fact that, in rehearsals, she’s been told that she needs to start carb-loading for DOI, otherwise the training will really take it out of her. She doesn’t want to bulk up, but at the same time, she knows she has to be strong for the show.” However, our source says this has caused Sam to feel more and more self-conscious. We’re told, “She’s worried it’s only going to get worse once Billie goes on the show. She really wishes she was also doing something active, and is considering doing some kind of reality show or challenge, where she has to train hard, as she wants to be able to keep up with Billie.”
In an interview last year, Sam, 29, revealed that she was stepping up her fitness game, saying she had found it hard to fit it in around being a mum to Paul, four, and Rosie, two. Admitting that she was “not exactly where I want to be weight-wise”, she said she would often squeeze in training sessions before the kids woke up.
Despite also having to deal with Crohn’s disease, Sam is clearly dedicated to keeping fit, as she also revealed last year, “I do three hour-long sessions a week of interval training and cardio.”
Meanwhile, Billie, who once said she was “never really a gym bunny”, has already been showing off the results of her new-found fitness in rehearsals for DOI. The star – who is mum to Nelly, six, and Arthur, three – once said that on TOWIE, she was always known as “Sam’s sister”. But now her star is only set to rise further when DOI arrives on our TV screens next year. Let’s hope Sam is OK with being known as “Billie’s sister” from now on… n
