New year wedding for Ben & Ana
But Jen isn’t buying her hat just yet
Ben Affleck seems to want to see out 2020 with a bang, as an insider tells heat the actor would love to get married to girlfriend Ana de Armas on New Year’s Eve. The couple were seen kissing during a break from reshooting scenes on their upcoming movie Deep Water last week (above) – and 32-year-old Ana was spotted with a huge sparkler on her ring finger.
Ben and Ana – who first met on the Deep Water set last year – are playing husband and wife in the erotic thriller, so the ring could be part of Ana’s costume, but our source tells us that Ben is super-keen to make things official between them. “Ben and Ana have been together for over a year and have been through a lot – Ben thinks the time is right to get married,” we’re told. “He’d love to do it as soon as possible and is even looking at New Year’s Eve to start 2021 off right.”
But the only problem is, we’re told Ben’s ex-wife – and mother to their three children – Jennifer Garner is not as excited. “He really wants to get Jen’s blessing and have her and the kids there, but she’s not keen. Ben adores Jen and wants her to be part of the family, but Jen doesn’t think their kids should be there, let alone attend herself.” The former couple are often pictured together as they continue to co-parent Violet, 14, Seraphina, 11, and eight-year-old Sam. Jen has helped Ben deal with his alcohol addiction, but we’re told that doesn’t mean she’s fully supportive of him rushing into marriage with Ana. We’re told, “He wants it to be a big Hollywood event with all his peers there to show just how far he’s come. He feels that he needs Jen’s approval to make it look official, but she’s told him he can leave her name off the guest list.
“She’ll always be there when it comes to co-parenting with the kids, but she’s got no interest in getting caught up in his romance with Ana.” ■
