Chris & Maura finally couple up

A year after Love Island, they admit they’re dating

-

After months of rumours that the pair were dating, Chris Taylor and Maura Higgins have finally confirmed they are a couple. After meeting on the 2019 series of Love Island, and even being coupled-up at one point, nothing more than friendship blossomed in the villa, and Maura went on to be a runner-up with Curtis Pritchard.

But 2020 has put a lot of things in perspective, and after Maura split with Curtis in March, fans immediately began to suspect she had reconnected romantically with Chris. In August, the Irish beauty insisted she and Chris, both 30, were just “super-close” best friends, but the cheeky pair continued to tease us all with their social media posts. Chris would often recreate Maura’s sexy underwear selfies, and more recently he posted a video of the “kiss your best friend” challenge, which saw him lunging at Maura and the video conveniently cutting out before they kissed. We realised last week we’d all been taken for mugs when the couple finally confirmed they were a thing. Posting the same picture on their accounts, Chris wrote, “Turns out I fell in love with my best mate,” while Maura captioned her post, “He’s mine.” And it seems their Love Island castmates were in on it, as Georgia Steel commented, “Yay! It’s official”, while Lucie Donlan said, “My favourites”, and Joe Garratt wrote, “Finally! Love you two.” And when Molly-mae’s followers asked if she knew, she replied, “Maybe I did, maybe I didn’t”. Congrats, you two – turns out Love Island moves in mysterious ways. n
