Jamie and Karen show how close they are…
Looking as cosy as two dancers who have just been doing the tango together, Jamie Laing and Karen Hauer cuddled up to each other after leaving Strictly rehearsals last week. Ever the Chelsea gent, Jamie carried one of his dance pro’s bags for her before she threw her arms around him to say goodbye.
In a recent interview with heat, Jamie, 32, told us that he and Karen had an “undying bond”. He explained they’d become very close over the past couple of months, saying, “We talk about everything together. We talk about sex, relationships, everything.” But the Made In Chelsea star – who has been dating girlfriend Sophie Habboo for over a year – assured us that there was no chance of the Strictly curse interfering in their relationship. When this year’s line-up was announced, Jamie was quick to heap praise on his 26-year-old girlfriend.
“I’m very lucky to be with [Sophie]. She is better than I am in every single way – cooking, dancing, sport, talking, everything. She’s pretty special. I don’t worry about the curse, and if it were to happen, it would be a complete shame on me.” In fact, he later joked to heat that, during all the time he spent at rehearsals, Sophie was at home being visited by various personal trainers and massage therapists – “I don’t know what she’s doing every day,” he teased.
And while things are, well, strictly platonic between Jamie and Karen, there’s a chance we could still have some show romance on our hands. Jamie said he would propose to Sophie on the dance floor if he won the competition. He told us, “It’d be great TV – I’m going to do it!” ■
