Why Katie Price is terrified of another divorce
Once bitten, twice shy… four times, bricking it
She hasn’t just kissed a lot of frogs, she’s also married and divorced a bunch, too – but Katie Price has finally found her Prince Charming. Indeed, the former glamour model has been telling us that she can’t wait to say “I do” to Carl Woods ever since they coupled up in June. And last week, the pair celebrated their six-month anniversary with typically OTT public displays of gushiness – with Katie revealing they hadn’t spent a second apart since the day they met.
But, according to insiders, while the 42 year old may be desperate to become Mrs Katie Woods – and has the tattoo of Carl’s face on her arm, plus the “Mrs Woods” monogrammed luggage to prove it – she’s also terrified at the prospect. After all, with three failed marriages, a few more broken engagements, and nine wedding and vow-renewal ceremonies behind her, Katie’s not exactly had the best of luck in that department. And even though things are amazing with Carl, she still has anxious moments.
“Katie is feeling completely torn,” says an insider close to the mum of five – who, in the past, has accused ex-husbands Alex Reid and Kieran Hayler, and former fiancé Kris Boyson of using her for fame. “She thinks Carl is too good to be true, and is worried that this could end with another expensive divorce and heartbreak. She’s claimed she wouldn’t be in the financial mess she’s in right now if it wasn’t for previous partners ‘taking advantage of her’, and although Carl doesn’t appear to be like that, she’s worried that putting a ring on her finger will change things.”
There’s no denying that Katie’s turned her life around in 2020 – and she’s largely credited Carl for aiding her transformation, insisting he’s “not a cling-on and doesn’t need to be famous”. And last week, the couple doubled down on their one-of-a-kind love, as Katie told her followers, “Six months of being with each other every day 24/7… it’s taken all these years to actually find my soul mate.” Carl replied, “Dolly 24/7 is never too much. Precious – with Katie later revealing, “We might not have a baby, but this is our new baby together.”
As we all know, the couple
have been very open about wanting to have kids – but we’re told Katie’s still looking for every assurance that Carl is for keeps. “She’s second guessing everything,” says our source. “She’s in love with the idea of being married, but she’s also not sure she could handle another divorce or being jilted at the altar.”
In all fairness, Katie, any relationship that can cope with six months of constant couple time is stronger than most. Fourth time lucky, babes. n
