Tara Reid is known for many things – her breakthrough role in American Pie, her wild nights out with Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan, and her many straight-to-dvd movies, such as Sharknado. But for us, her enduring friendship with Jedward – from 2009’s The X Factor – will always be undeniably fascinating. In fact, the 45 year old gets on so well with the hyper Irish twins that she spent much of the first lockdown in LA with them…
How have the last few months been for you? Being forced to stay at home has given me a chance to get so much work done. It’s been so awful for my industry colleagues, but I’ve been lucky enough to focus on my thriller blockbuster that is going to be so cool. And this second lockdown isn’t as exciting as the first, when I had my best friends Jedward staying with me. You’re still so close to Jedward!
Oh gosh, I just love them both so much. Jedward are my best friends. They are the coolest guys ever. We have been so close since we met in the Big Brother house in 2011. They actually were not sharing my home like the press reported, they happened to have their own apartment in the same block as me, so we kind of grouped up together. They are two of the funniest people I have ever met in my whole life and they have hearts of gold. I can’t understand how people can’t tell John and Edward apart – to me, they look so different. Any highlights from your lockdown together? One of the best moments was when they performed a concert from my balcony. We live in a high-rise and everyone below us was going wild for them. They are like my two naughty little brothers. How are you keeping your spirits up? My two dogs are the love of my life – they give me so much joy. I also listen to relaxation tapes before bed – and cooking. I haven’t stopped making food during lockdown. So many people are sad right now, so when my publicist asked me to get involved in a new Christmas campaign, I agreed, just so I can do my part in putting a smile on people’s faces. People can purchase gift messages from celebrities – I’ve been doing it for gender reveal parties, birthdays and as a Christmas gift, it’ll be so cool. ■
