Megan: ‘I had to say sorry to Demi’
She tells us why she had dinner with her ex
It takes an iron lady to brave a dinner of small talk and awkward conversations with their ex-love – especially if the romance crashed and burned. So, kudos to Megan Barton-hanson. The reality star is set to prove she has nerves of steel after heading out for a meal with her former fling and subsequent nemesis Demi Sims to hash out the past, and filming the whole thing for BBC series Eating With My Ex. Speaking to heat, Megan tells us she was “sweating” beforehand – but she’s “so glad” she did it.
“Since we’d broken up, we hadn’t spoken and it had turned a little bit bitter,” she says. “But we always got on, just not in a romantic capacity, so I had so much respect for her. She wasn’t an ex who I didn’t want to see again.”
Let’s recap: Megan hooked up with TOWIE star Demi last year on Celebs Go Dating. The pair hit it off, but the relationship came to an abrupt and inglorious end, after Meghan ended things via text, publicly stating they had no sexual chemistry. An aggrieved Demi later said, “I’ve blocked her on everything. She’s completely cut from my life. I’m over it.”
But time heals all wounds and, according to Megan, she decided it was high time they talked it out. And luckily for us, it was all caught on camera. “I owed her an apology for the cowardly way I ended it,” Megan tells us. “I feel like a lot of people have trouble admitting when they’re wrong and I’ll hold my hands up, I hate being wrong. But it was something I really felt I needed to do.” n
