Armie Hammer’s estranged wife speaks out
After claims that Armie Hammer had sent multiple women violent messages surfaced back in January, his estranged wife, Elizabeth Chambers, has finally spoken out. While the authenticity of the actor’s shocking messages has not yet been verified, Elizabeth, 38, clearly addressed the controversy in her statement posted online.
“For weeks, I’ve been trying to process everything that has transpired,” she wrote. “I am shocked, heartbroken, and devastated. Heartbreak aside, I am listening, and will continue to listen and educate myself on these delicate matters. I didn’t realise how much I didn’t know. I support any victim of assault or abuse and urge anyone who has experienced this pain to seek the help she or he needs to heal.” The US TV personality – who split from the actor last summer after ten years of marriage, and has two young children with him – went on to thank fans for their support. The Call Me By Your Name star is said to have written disturbing messages of a sexual nature, also referencing cannibalism and his desire to possess “slaves”. The messages are alleged to have been sent between 2016 and 2020. A woman claiming to have been involved with the actor posted screenshots of the supposed messages. One read, “I am 100 per cent a cannibal. I want to eat you,” while another said, “Would you come and be my property until you die?”
The 34 year old has denied the claims, calling them “bullshit” and, “vicious and spurious online attacks against me.” n
