Don’t believe everything you see on Insta

Amidst the current furore surrounding influencers and their “essential work” trips to far-flung exotic countries, there was always going to be one who royally f**ked up. And last week, former TOWIE star Mario Falcone was caught out posting pictures that made it appear as though he was in the UK, when actually he was caught on camera over in Dubai.

The 32 year old was spotted with his fiancée Becky and their twoyear-old son Parker in the influencer hot spot. But both Mario and Becky’s social media accounts suggested differently, as the couple continued to post pictures of themselves in winterwear at home in Essex. The onlooker who captured the pair on video in Dubai said, “It’s bad enough the influencers who are here trying to defend themselves. But to slip over and leave your followers thinking that you’re back home shivering with everyone else in England duringlockdown is outrageous.” The family later returned to the UK, and Mario has since shared an abundance of pictures and videos of them at their Essex house, seemingly in a bid to confirm to fans that they are genuinely at home. A friend of the couple reportedly explained their whirlwind excursion as a business trip. The friend claimed that Becky was in Dubai for a meeting relating to her beauty business, and that Mario had gone to look after Parker. But some fans are not convinced, and have called the couple “selfish” for their trip, with one commenter writing, “They don’t live in the real world”. n
