‘Hopefully, they can all find a way to stay civil’
You know a relationship is getting serious when you meet the kids – and the ex. Harry Styles and new girlfriend Olivia Wilde have flown to London to hang out with the actress/director’s two children. But that also means coming face-to-face with their dad, Olivia’s ex-fiancé Jason Sudeikis, who’s had Otis, six, and four-year-old Daisy with him in the UK while he’s filming. And with the actor said to be “very cut up” about the end of his engagement, that meeting could be all kinds of awkward… “Harry is looking forward to meeting the kids and becoming a more involved stepdad,” says an insider close to the One Direction singer, who went public with Olivia in January, after meeting on set of her film Don’t Worry Darling. “He knows Olivia’s kids are everything to her. They want to enjoy a romantic trip, and Harry’s also keen to introduce her to his mum, friends and family.”
But one person who Harry is less likely to be excited about seeing is Jason. Olivia – who turns 37 next week – and the Horrible Bosses star were together for seven years, before announcing their split last November. Insiders have disputed the break-up timeline, with those close to Olivia claiming it was over in early 2020, and 45-year-old Jason’s camp insisting it ended after she met the singer. Either way, we’re told Olivia is now keen to have a clear-the-air conversation. “She wants to hash things out together without involving lawyers,” says our source. “And she wants Harry to be involved in these discussions, too, so Jason can see for himself that he’s a mature and responsible adult, who can be trusted with their children. Harry also wants to make sure things are as friendly and peaceful as they can be.”
Unfortunately, despite Jason hooking up with former glamour model Keeley Hazell in recent weeks, friends say the actor is still struggling. We’re told, “He’s bound to find it hard since Harry is with the woman who was the love of his life. He’s felt slightly happier since Keeley came on the scene, but he’s still sore about this situation. Jason’s a realist, though, and willing to handle it like an adult. The kids are the most important thing in this, so hopefully they can all find a way to be civil.” n
