Louise Redknapp has upset Jamie by airing their marriage split details

He’s not happy about her VERY honest new book

- KATIE HOLLOWAY

As Louise Redknapp releases her new book You’ve Got This, certain revelations have left fans reeling. As well as admitting she regrets leaving Jamie after 19 years of marriage, the singer says how she felt she “f**ked things up”, and even that she had suicidal thoughts during the breakdown of her relationship.

But, we’re told, on top of all of that, Jamie and his family are unhappy that Louise has decided to speak out publicly again about their marriage, as they feel she’s gone too far. “Jamie’s parents are pretty shocked that Louise has been airing her dirty laundry in public. It’s causing a lot of strain within the family,” an insider tells heat. “Jamie begged Louise not to go into too much detail about their personal lives, and now his side of the family thinks she’s gone way too far. Jamie has let her say a lot about the marriage up until now, but he doesn’t want it to keep being dragged up, especially now he’s in a new relationship. He wants to remain civil for the sake of the boys, but this latest stuff was a bit too much for him and he’s struggling to forgive Lou for bringing up yet more heartache.”

Jamie and Louise share two sons – Charley, 16, and Beau, 12 – and while Jamie, 47, is now dating model Frida Andersson-lourie, Louise has remained single since the split four years ago. In her book, Louise speaks about how appearing on Strictly in 2016 gave her a new lease of life, which led her to leave Jamie. While there were rumours at the time that she and dance partner Kevin Clifton were more than friends, she seems to quash these altogether, writing, “It’s not real. Once the show finishes, you move on. You go, ‘OK, we weren’t that good friends!’” She also admits she wishes she’d spoken up more during her 19-year relationship. “I wish I’d tried,” she writes. “I want to say to anyone thinking of running: just slow down. Don’t run. Because once you run too fast, you can’t make up the ground you’ve lost. Stop, say what you need, say what you think, don’t be afraid to say what’s really going on. You don’t have to be quiet.” In a particularly harrowing excerpt, she admits she even

felt suicidal at points after the split.

Our insider tells us that Louise, 46, just wants to get everything off her chest. “She doesn’t see why Jamie and his family are so sensitive. She does regret a lot of what happened, but she feels she wasn’t entirely to blame – there’s a lot that she hasn’t said. Meanwhile, Jamie’s family just wants to leave the past in the past.”

Louise has told fans that it has been therapeutic for her to write down her feelings and experiences, adding that she hopes the book will help others going through similar experiences. Our source tells us she ultimately just wants to move on. “Lou would love to meet someone new, but she hasn’t been able to with all the unfinished business she’s had with Jamie. She knows she’s upset the Redknapps by going public with her experiences, but she’s fed up with trying to please everyone and this is her road to recovery.” n
