The Celebrity Circle comes to Channel 4
CHANNEL 4, FROM TUESDAY 9 MARCH, 9.15PM
If you found the first few series of reality game show The Circle a tad confusing – if wildly entertaining – then wait till this new celeb version kicks off. The whole Big Brother-meets-catfish concept of the series is built around social media, and the idea you can be anyone in that virtual world. So, a bunch of contestants gather to live separately in a lavish apartment block. They never meet, and only get to know (and judge) each other via their profiles in a specially designed app. They can be themselves or pretend to be someone else, and whoever is deemed most popular by their fellow contestants wins. In this version, all the participants are famous, but some of them will pretend to be someone else who is also famous. It’s going to be a wild ride. Here’s who’s taking part…
WHO’S WHO DENISE VAN OUTEN:
The actress and presenter has done everything from Strictly to The Masked Singer, and this year’s Dancing On Ice, until she had to withdraw after an injury.
PETE WICKS & SAM THOMPSON:
TOWIE star Pete and Made In Chelsea dude Sam, who co-host E4’s Reality News, are joining forces to pretend to be Rachel Riley off Countdown. Told you this would be confusing.
LADY LESHURR:
The UK singer/rapper/ producer who’s done Celeb Masterchef and DOI will impersonate fellow musician Big Narstie.
KAYE ADAMS & NADIA SAWALHA:
Kaye and Nadia are mates from Loose Women, and they are teaming up on The Celebrity Circle to convince the other celebs they are, in fact, Gemma Collins.
CHARLOTTE CROSBY:
The reality TV icon who started out on Geordie Shore will be a new addition to the game, playing… Peter Andre!
DUNCAN JAMES:
The one-time member of boy band Blue who’s gone on to star in Hollyoaks. He’s also doing Celebs On The Farm this year.
SAFFRON BARKER:
The Youtuber was the first female social media star to take part in Strictly in the 2019 series.
BAGA CHIPZ:
The iconic drag queen got to the final of series one of Drag Race UK and finished in third place. In The Celebrity Circle, she’s pretending to be Kim Woodburn of How Clean Is Your House fame.
RICKIE HAYWOOD-WILLIAMS & MELVIN ODOOM:
Radio legends who co-hosted the Kiss breakfast show for many years. They’ll try to persuade players they’re Will.i.am.
THE DEETS
The series will run over six consecutive nights, hosted by the great Emma Willis, with narration from comedian Sophie Willan (Alma’s Not Normal). The whole thing will raise money for Stand Up To Cancer. HHHH
