Why Lisa’s finally calling a truce with Ant

It’s all about closure

-

They had one of the most bitter break-ups in showbiz, leading to two years of legal woes, public digs and feelings of betrayal. But according to insiders, Lisa Armstrong is ready to bury the hatchet with her ex-husband Ant Mcpartlin, so that they can “finally put the past behind them” and move on. And sources say the TV make-up artist is keen to give them both a sense of closure.

“Lisa is fed up with all the hostility that still exists between them and wants to call a truce,” says an insider close to the 44 year old, who, as heat recently told you, is happier than ever with her boyfriend James Green. “She’s all about moving on with no hard feelings towards Ant, so that they can still operate comfortably in the same personal and professional circles.”

Lisa said she was “gutted” back in 2019, when she was dropped from her 12-year gig on Britain’s Got Talent, amid claims that her ongoing divorce with Ant meant there was no way she could be on set, too. She’s since dusted herself off in spectacular fashion, launching her own beauty line and landing more TV gigs in the process. But our source says she’s keen to avoid any more industry blips – and that means drawing a line firmly under her and Ant’s past. And with them both happy and settled with new partners – Ant’s engaged to his former PR Anne-marie Corbett – now feels like the perfect time.

“She wants them both to be happy,” says a source close to Lisa, who shares custody of labrador Hurley with Ant. “She’s determined to put it all behind her.” n
