Perrie: ‘Leigh Anne’s making me broody’

Little Mix may have recently lost their fourth member, but they are about to gain another, in the form of Leigh-anne Pinnock’s first baby. The 29 year old announced last week that she and fiancé Andre Gray are expecting their first child together, saying, “We’ve dreamed about this moment for so long and we can’t believe the dream is finally coming true. We can’t wait to meet you.”
Both Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall, the remaining members of the group, shared their excitement on the Instagram post, and an insider close to Perrie tells heat it’s got her feeling extra broody for kids with her boyfriend Alex Oxlade-chamberlain.
“Perrie and Alex are in a really good place right now,” our source shares. “They have more than enough space in their mansion to have a family, and Perrie has been dreaming about having a house full of kids. She is thrilled for Leigh-anne – it’s made her broody and has also put the idea in her head that no matter what is going on with the band, she needs to also be able to live her life.”
Naturally, what with Leighanne’s news and Jesy Nelson leaving, Little Mix fans have been questioning the future of the band, but for now, it seems they are keen to continue. Jade, 28, said in a recent interview that they have “had to adapt” since Jesy left.
“It’s definitely been a weird shift, but we’re getting on with it,” she said. “And we as a three weren’t ready to call it a day yet – we love doing this and being Little Mix.”
But it might not be long before family becomes a priority for all of the girls. “Leigh-anne has hinted that she wants a really big family with lots of children running around, and she will obviously need an extended time out from the band to achieve that,” we’re told. “And while Jade can totally see that Perrie also wants to be a mum, she feels that she’s not quite there yet with her boyfriend Jordan [Stephens, from Rizzle Kicks], although she does want kids, too, at some point. Jade has a lot of career ambitions still and has said that, if the band go on a break like One Direction, then she will use the time to focus on doing some acting work, rather than going solo. Either way, the future of the band feels a bit up in the air, but the girls are supporting each other – no matter what, they will always have each other’s backs.” ■
