We’re all hyped for a bit

Her bags are already packed and waiting by the door

more normality this summer – but no one is more excited than Coleen Rooney

Guys, it seems we may get a summer holiday after all, following the announcement that international travel is returning, albeit with the government’s “green list” of COVID-SAFE destinations. And, believe us, no one is more relieved than Coleen Rooney. After all, the Wag/tan fan relies on vacays the way that we rely on food and water: they’re paramount to her survival. So, by all accounts, the past nine months (she last went on holiday last August) have been hell.

Add to that her ongoing court case with Rebekah Vardy, homeschooling four boys, renovating a mega-mansion, and supporting husband Wayne in his demanding job as manager of Derby County, and it’s no surprise that Coleen’s planning to spend more time in the air this summer than on the ground. According to our insider, she’s currently plotting five blow-out holidays. And, much like many of the other exhausted parents who have been locked up with their other halves and unable to see their friends over the past year, her top priority is flying off on a girls’ getaway (or three).

“A life without luxury hotels and pampering is just no fun for Coleen,” says an insider close to the 35 year old, who – as heat recently told you – has been struggling to deal with Wayne’s grumpy moods at home as he grapples with the pressures of his job. “First thing’s first – as soon as it looks feasible – is a girls’ weekend in Ibiza, which she’s hoping will happen in June before the kids break up for school. She’s already lining up hotel and villa options, as well as a yacht. Her core group of friends are all desperate to let their hair down; everyone has it in their calendars, but it’s just a case of having to wait and see with restrictions. She’s seriously on a mission to live it up.”

With the government’s green list set to be updated regularly, Coleen has been making tentative plans based on likely countries to make the cut this summer. After Ibiza, she’s planning to whisk the boys – Kai, 11, Klay, seven, Kit, five, and three-year-old Cass – away to their villa in Portugal, alongside her parents. We’re told Wayne might join them for a few days,

depending on his footie commitments. And from there, she really isn’t stopping, with a family holiday to Barbados next on the list and, if restrictions permit, a quick trip to Disneyworld in the US. And if she can fit more girls’ weekends in all the better. It’s a shame Wayne may have to miss out on most of it. “She’s pulling out all the stops,” we’re told. “Yes, Coleen likes a bit of luxury, but she’s also very down to earth and always hands on with the boys, but this time she wants proper relaxation. She’s said she won’t be lifting a finger: there will be personal chefs and a driver. And when they’re not staying in their villas in Portugal and Barbados, it’s all about the five-star hotels – and she’s quite happy for most of summer to be Wayne-free.”

In summary, a return to normality is almost in sight – and what could be more normal than Coleen Rooney going on a bajillion holidays and rocking loads of new bikinis? “She lives for the sunshine and is desperately missing it,” we’re told. “A life without holidays is torture for her.” n
