Olivia & Alex: ‘We are so full of love’
The couple reveal they’re expecting first child
They’re one of the few Love Island couples to have gone the distance – marrying in 2018 after two years together and settling down in Essex with their French bulldogs, Reggie and Winnie. And, last week, Alex and Olivia Bowen announced they were adding to their brood in a series of heart-melting Instagram posts.
The happy couple revealed they were expecting their first child – posting polaroid pictures of a baby scan, baby shoes and Olivia’s bump, alongside the caption, “Happy New… Baby Bowen.” Then, in an emotional video, they showed clips of them sharing the news with their family and friends – bringing fans to tears. “We are so unbelievably overflowing with love,” wrote Olivia beneath the video montage. “I cannot watch this without crying! My most emotional video ever, I had to share with you all tonight this part of the journey. It helps me show you how much this means to us and our loved ones. When I thought of telling our closest [friends and family], it always made me well up – it was something I couldn’t wait to do.”
She also thanked her fans for their well-wishes, adding, “You’ve made this such an amazing time for us. I can confirm we are soooo buzzing too, definitely hugely nervous haha! I am so overwhelmed and we are so full of love. Thank you THANK YOU!” Alex, 30, also paid tribute to Olivia, who had extra reason to celebrate last week as she turned 28. In a gushing post, he wrote, “Happy birthday to the most amazing, beautiful wife and mummyto-be. [You] literally mean everything and more to me!” Adorable doesn’t even begin to cover it. ■
