Paige & Finn: ‘WE OWED IT TO EACH OTHER TO GET CLOSURE’

The exes are now on good terms

-

Celebrity Ex On The Beach is back for series three, promising frosty shoreside reunions and awkward dynamics as a group of stars attempt to find love in a villa full of past, well, lovers. And for Love Island 2020 winners Paige Turley and Finn Tapp, the MTV show was a chance to unpick their relationship breakdown after they split last April. The couple were together for three years after meeting on the first winter series, and had even set up home together in Manchester.

Now, Paige, 26, tells heat that her motive to star on Celebrity Ex On The Beach was to get some time with Finn, 24, to hash things out. She recalls of their split, “The last thing we did was pack the flat up, then I came back to Scotland and Finn was down south.

I felt like we both owed it to ourselves and each other, after a three-year relationship, to get that closure. As difficult as it was, it was good for us.”

Paige put their break-up down to the fact they had “drifted apart”, and while they have managed to get to a “good place” since co-starring on Celebrity Ex On The Beach, they haven’t decided to give things another go romantically. “It’s good to have the communication back,” Finn says. “Paige was obviously a big part of my life, so it’s nice that we are not just two strangers. It’s nice if you bump into each other at an event or something that you can have a drink and just catch up. It’s nice having Paige back in that capacity.”

Paige and Finn are no strangers to the camera, after their Love Island journey dominated screens for six weeks four years ago. But they admit their latest project has left them feeling more apprehensive. “This time, we have done the filming and we’re going to be watching it as it’s going out, so I’m a bit nervous about that,” said Paige, with Finn adding, “Every episode that comes out, it’s going to be a little bit strange and nerve-wracking.” n
