Springfest time at the Shores

-

ALL roads lead to Loch Lomond Shores this weekend for the popular visitor attraction’s Springfest food and drink festival.

This year’s event, taking place on Saturday, April 6 and Sunday, April 7, will include free cooking demonstrations by two great Scottish chefs, Niall Murray and Rohan Wadke, as well as whisky and gin tastings with Loch Lomond Whiskies, lots of amazing producers, street food from around the world as well as foraging workshops.

Niall’s demos will be held at 12noon and 2pm on Saturday, and Rohan’s are at 12noon and 2pm on Sunday. All are free and will be followed by Q&As after each demo.

New for this year’s festival is foraging workshops with Sharon Kerrigan, who will take attendees on a wander to explore wild foods available and discuss their identifying features and toxic lookalikes as well as their edible and medicinal properties.

Tickets for the foraging workshops can be bought at bit.ly/3PwVAQL, for the whisky tasting at bit. ly/3VoiY6U and for the gin tasting at bit.ly/3PtZNEZ.

There will also be family entertainment with visits from Rapunzel and Ariel on Sunday and children’s rides, stilt walkers and fun mascots added to the play area, along with live buskers and Lomond Radio on site throughout the weekend.

Audrey Calder from Loch Lomond Shores said: “Springfest is shaping up to be a great weekend with lots to see and do.

“The introduction of foraging workshops not only showcases our natural resources here at Loch Lomond Shores, it also offers a taste of foraging for those foodies who would like to use the ultimate local ingredients in their cooking.”
