Justin and Hailey Bieber expecting first child

Pop star Justin Bieber and his wife Hailey have announced they are expecting their first child.

The couple revealed the news on Instagram in a short video featuring footage from a ceremony to renew their wedding vows in which her baby bump was visible. A representative confirmed the model is slightly more than six months pregnant.

Singer Justin, 30, and Hailey, 27, who is the daughter of actor Stephen Baldwin, married at a courthouse in New York in September 2018, two months after getting engaged. They later organised a larger celebration for their friends and family in South Carolina.

The couple have been at the centre of speculation for months, with Hailey addressing the rumours in an interview: “Recently, everybody was like: ‘Oh my God, she’s pregnant,’ and that’s happened to me multiple times before.

“Thereissomethingthat’sdisheartening… Damn, I can’t be bloated one time and not be pregnant? It would be a lie if I was like: ‘Oh yeah, I don’t give a s**t.’”

She also said that becoming a mother was: “Something I look forward to. It’s such a private, intimate thing. It’s something that’s going to come when it comes.”

In 2020, Canadian-born Justin, who has sold around 150 million records worldwide, said he would leave it to his wife to decide how many children they had.

“I’m going to have as many as Hailey is wishing to push out,” he said. “I’d love to have myself a little tribe. But it’s her body and whatever she wants to do. I think she wants to have a few.”
