Stay safe from winter chills at flu clinics

-

AS THE flu season approaches, Brixham’s St Lukes & Greenswood Medical Centre will be offering patients one of two types of flu vaccinations.

The three-strain vaccine will be available to all patients aged 65 and over, while the four-strain vaccine is for those aged 18 to under 65.

To cope with demand, the medical centre has set up a wide range of specific flu clinics – for over-65s, for those aged 18-65, those who are mixed-aged, evening clinics, eligible children’s clinics (during half-term) and at least two Saturday clinics.

An evening clinic for over-65s will take place on Thursday, September 27, from 5pm-7pm with pre-bookable appointments.

The first of the over-65s Saturday morning clinics will be on September 22 at Brixham Hospital, where St Lukes & Greenswood Medical Centre staff will be working alongside those from Compass House Medical Centre. Doors will open from 8.30am-12.15pm.

For those aged 18 to under 65, flu clinics will begin with an evening clinic on Thursday, September 27, followed by a Saturday clinic on October 6 for the same age group, 8am-12.15pm. The medical centre will also be holding drop-in and pre-bookable appointment flu clinics for eligible children after school and throughout half-term week (October 22-26).

Parents can ring to pre-book these appointments now. Call the St Lukes & Greenswood Medical on 01803 852731 to book.
